Second Linux meet proposed
for 16 January 1999
Hi Guys and Gals,
So far all we've decided about the next meeting is that it will be on Saturday
the 16th. I will definitely be doing a session on DNS, perhaps one on sendmail
(if I can get my act together about it).
We still need the following:
- A couple more sessions
- A venue
- Some infrastructure (pref a laptop with Linux, hopefully a Barco RGB projector,
definitely a room with an OHP). Any volunteers? The only person I know with
a laptop with Linux installed is going to be in Bangalore (with the laptop,
unfortunately). Anyone else? I can talk to SGI about using our conference
room in the Kailash Colony office.
Should I do so? I have also talked to a friend about loaning a Barco, he's
willing to do it at cost (transportation, person to setup).
- Some press releases to generate interest once we have the time, venue
and contents frozen.
Your suggestions welcome.
BTW, we currently have 26 people on the list. Do *you* know anyone who might
be interested? If yes, send a message to :
linux-delhi@bhairavi.newdelhi.sgi.com
with the body: subscribe e-mail.address@of.your.friend
S/he will still have to verify the subscription in any case, this is
just a way to overcome the initial inertia which faces us when asked to
subscribe to a list.
Regards, and have a great 1999 (or does that sound like too much California?
:)

P.S. That reminds me: California, n.: From Latin "calor", meaning
"heat" (as in English "calorie" or Spanish "caliente");
and "fornia'" for "sexual intercourse" or "fornication."
Hence: Tierra de California, "the land of hot sex."
